This is a weekly meme hosted Devouring Books. This week’s prompt is Magical Realism. Here’s my list:

1. Practical Magic (Practical Magic #1) by Alice Hoffman

2. All the Crooked Saints by Maggie Stiefvater

3. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children #1) by Ransom Riggs

4. Coraline by Neil Gaiman

5. The Hazel Wood (The Hazel Wood #1) by Melissa Albert

(All book covers from Goodreads)

If you’d like to do this list too, consider yourself tagged!

  1. Great choices. I want to read almost all of these! I really enjoyed Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children and especially the use of photos to create a story. I’ve always wanted to use it as a writing prompt. Practical Magic has been high on my list for a while too.

  2. Great list! I have Coraline and All the Crooked Saints on my TBR. For some reason I didn’t think that Crooked Saints was magical realism (I have no idea why)! Can’t wait to read these 🙂
