The ideas for my Blogmas posts are from a post on the blog Diary of a Stay at Home Mom. You can see the list of ideas in my Day 1 Blogmas post here.

I love handmade Christmas presents both to give and get. They are very special and creative. Sometimes it’s easier to make someone for the people who have everything! My mom is very creative and she was always making crafts as gifts. She still does add personal touches on some presents.
Do you like handmade Christmas presents?
I like them, both to make and to get, though I probably enjoy making them for people more. Last Christmas, my wife and I made a giant blanket-fort kit for our kids. We got a bunch of PVC pipe to be the fort structure, and then old sheets from a hospital (we made sure they were clean!) We sewed a couple of sheets together into a giant sheet, and the kids can just drape it over the forts, and then use the extra sheets for doorways and interior dividers and whatnot. Makes fort-making really easy, and they can make big, complex forts!
And my favorite gift from last year was little hand-print ornaments my wife made for me, that have the kids’ hand prints on them. 🙂

Wow that’s an awesome idea for kids! I’ll have to remember that! Yes the hand-print decorations are so cute and easy to make, but they mean so much.

It’s been a lot of fun to have! It also means that the living room is often a maze off bedsheets and pvc pipe, which can sometimes be a bit….in the way.
