Louisa Clark is an ordinary young woman living an exceedingly ordinary life—steady boyfriend, close family—who has never been farther afield than their tiny village. She takes a badly needed job working for ex-Master of the Universe Will Traynor, who is wheelchair-bound after an accident. Will has always lived a huge life—big deals, extreme sports, worldwide travel—and now he’s pretty sure he cannot live the way he is.

Will is acerbic, moody, bossy—but Lou refuses to treat him with kid gloves, and soon his happiness means more to her than she expected. When she learns that Will has shocking plans of his own, she sets out to show him that life is still worth living.

A love story for this generation, Me Before You brings to life two people who couldn’t have less in common—a heartbreakingly romantic novel that asks, What do you do when making the person you love happy also means breaking your own heart?

Review:

I really loved this story.

I loved Louisa. She’s a funny and quirky character. She’s very positive, even when Will is constantly making her life harder. But he has some redeeming qualities too. He’s very thoughtful. And his bitterness can be understood, since he was in a terrible accident that left him paralyzed.

The ending of the story absolutely broke my heart. And it made me wonder how there could be a sequel (and another one coming out this year!). But I look forward to reading After You very soon!

Soon after After You was released, I went to a book signing and met Jojo Moyes! It was a fun event, where they even gave away bumblebee tights! Here’s a photo of her signing my book.

  1. They’re both on my TBR pile! I own a copy of Me Before You, but I don’t want to read it until I have time to run to the library to get After You, so I can read them back to back. #readerprobs

    1. Me too! I loved Will and I was devastated at the end of Me Before You. I heard that After You was good but not as good, and I wonder what will happen in the new one Still Me.

  2. After You was actually really good. It’s somewhat of a self discovery book and honestly the ending made me wish there was a third and then come to find out there will be one! I had no idea until about a month ago and when I found out I was really surprised and pleased, it’s on my TBR of 2018

      1. I liked the book but I don’t think it will have the same appeal without Will. Also the movie didn’t do so well, so it’s unlikely. I did think Emelia Clark and Sam “what’s his name” were really sweet together. God I can’t remember his name and it’s going to drive me mental lol.

  3. YOU WERE GIVEN BUMBLEBEE TIGHTS. Oh my word. I also saw the movie and I personally thought it did the book justice. It’s bit faster paced and brings out the quirkiness level a lot more and is only slightly less serious until the end. I say that just so you know in case you ever watch the movie. Anyway, that book pretty much changed my life. It made me stop caring as much what people thought and now I don’t give a crap how mismatched I am. Haha

  4. I read and loved this book. I was impressed by Lou’s nature, I didn’t like her sister though! After You was even more interesting and loved character development in it. I have same thought as you but for third book. how could there be another in series, I thought it would end at After You!! Nice Review! 🙂
